Kevin Willard has been named the new head coach of the Maryland Men’s Basketball program as announced by Damon Evans, Barry P. Gossett Director of Athletics. Willard recently coached Seton Hall to its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last six events that were played. Having won a regular-season conference championship, conference tournament championship and earning conference coach of the year, Willard is one of 10 active head coaches in the Power 6 conferences to achieve each of the accomplishments in the last six seasons.

The Maryland men’s lacrosse team lives by the mantra ‘Be The Best.’ On Memorial Day Monday, the No. 1 Terrapins showed they are the best of all-time, completing a perfect 18-0 season in winning the 2022 National Championship with a 9-7 victory over seventh-ranked Cornell at Rentschler Field.

The No. 1 Terps will play in the 2022 NCAA Championship Game on Monday, May 30 against No. 7-seed Cornell at 1 p.m at Rentschler Field at Pratt & Whitney Stadium.
Maryland advanced to the title game with a 13-8 victory over No.5-seed Princeton on Saturday night in East Hartford, Connecticut. Cornell moved forward with a 17-10 win over No. 6-seed Rutgers earlier on Saturday.

The Maryland baseball team will host an NCAA Regional for the first-time ever after the NCAA announced College Park as one of the 16 regional hosts for the NCAA Baseball Championship Sunday night.
The Terps will host at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium, with games starting Friday, June 3. Maryland’s seed along with other three teams included in the College Park Regional will be announced Monday, May 30 at noon during the NCAA Baseball Selection Show, broadcast on ESPN2.

Maryland won its second do-or-die game on Sunday, beating UConn, 7-6 in 11 innings to force a rematch of the teams on Monday night for the College Park NCAA Regional Championship. The Terps (48-13) and Huskies (48-14) are scheduled to play at 7 p.m.

The University of Maryland football team will make its 29th all-time bowl appearance when it meets No. 23 NC State in the 2022 Duke’s Mayo Bowl on December 30 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The game is scheduled for a Noon kickoff and will be televised nationally on ESPN.

The top-seeded Maryland men’s lacrosse team faces the fifth-seeded Princeton Tigers on Saturday May 28 at approx. 6:15 PM. In their ninth Final Four in 11 seasons, Maryland is looking to make its second consecutive Championship Game appearance. The Terps lead the nation in scoring offense and scoring margin, among other categories, as the lone undefeated team.

The DMV focus continues for the Maryland men’s basketball team as head coach Kevin Willard officially announced the signing of three four-star recruits on Wednesday. The trio of DeShawn Harris-Smith, Jamie Kaiser, Jr., and Jahnathan Lamothe ranks as the 11th-best class in the nation.
