The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicked off Sunday, Nov. 20, and it’s almost time for the United States men’s national team to do the same. With FIFA projecting around 5 billion people will tune in to the action this year, keep reading to find out how you can join in on the fun.

The USMNT are playing their first World Cup match since 2014 today — now — against Wales.

The 2022 World Cup is being played in Qatar and runs through Dec. 18. It’s the first winter World Cup in the history of the entire competition. 32 of the top national teams will compete across 64 matches. Team USA will return to the tournament this year for the first time since 2014.
During the group stage (which runs from Nov. 20-Dec. 2), games kick off at 5 a.m., 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. EST, so get your coffee ready. The first match of the competition, Qatar vs. Ecuador, started at 11 a.m EST on Sunday, Nov. 20.
